A long – awaited event that brought together students from different international schools around the country was the International Schools’ Athletic Championship (ISAC) 2023. Asian International School, Belvoir College International, The British School in Colombo, Burhani Serendib School, Colombo International School in Colombo, Colombo International School in Kandy, Elizabeth Moir International School, Gateway College in Colombo, Gateway College in Kandy, Horizon College International, Ilma International Girls School, Leeds International School, Lyceum International School Nugegoda, Lyceum International School, and Lyc The eighth edition of ISAC 2023 will take place at Lyceum International School.

History – International Schools’ Athletic Championship (ISAC)
Since ISAC’s founding 20 years ago, international schools who are connected with TISSL have improved their athletics to the extent where talented, professional athletes are born who participate for Sri Lanka at international track and field athletic competitions. ISAC 2023 will be held in accordance with the TISSL and International Amateur Athletic Federation rules and regulations, which will include electronic timing and measurements, in order to regularly maintain high standards.
International Schools’ Athletic Championship (ISAC) 2023 – February
Last week of February 2023, ISAC, Sri Lanka’s largest and most thrilling school sporting event, will take place at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days, providing over 2,000 athletes from all TISSL schools with a great stage for over 100 sporting activities.
In the interest of making the ISAC 2023 a success, Lyceum International Schools, the event’s official organizer, will collaborate with the British School in Colombo, Colombo International School, Gateway College, Leeds International School, OKI International School, and Royal Institute. Various charitable organizations and institutions, including two well-known business corporations that have came into supporting ISAC 2023, will sponsor the event. In addition to co-sponsors ASRIEL Holdings, Chariot, SEVEN Media, Baraka Naturals Joint Ease, and Sampath Bank, Lyceum Campus has committed itself to acting as ISAC 2023’s main sponsor. Pearson Education is the year’s special sponsor, and Sri Lanka’s Munchee is the snack partner.
Digital media and web media sponsorship was generously supported by Lankadeepa Online, Daily Mirror Online, Mirror Sports, Daily FT, and Sunday Times Online. Dream Team Media, the event’s official media partner, will broadcast the full event live on all social media platforms.
Lyceum Wattala win overall championship at ISAC, 2023
At the meet, around 2,000 athletes from 23 international schools will participate in 130 events for boys and girls in the age categories of Under-7, Under-9, Under-11, Under-13, Under-15, and Under-20.
- The International Schools’ Athletic Championships were held on Sunday at the Sugathadasa Stadium, and Lyceum International School Wattala took first place overall with 99 medals.
Lyceum Wattala earned 44 gold, 35 silver, and 20 bronze medals over the two-day competition, along with the setting of 22 new meet records.
The second-placed school, Gateway College of Colombo, won 22 gold, 12 silver, and 14 bronze medals. - Lyceum International, Panadura, won 35 medals and took third place.
- The Best Boys and Girls Athletes prizes went to Rizwan Carrim of Lyceum International, Panadura and Dinara Bandara of Gateway College, Colombo, respectively.
While Bandara won the U-20 Girls 200m with a time of 24.87 seconds, Carrim won the U-20 Boys Long Jump with a leap of 6.91 meters. - Bandara also won the ISAC Award for Best Performance.
In ISAC’s history, Lyceum International has won the overall championship 13 times. Seven times have been won by Gateway College in Colombo.
